Beach at the Grand Palladium Palace

Going to the Grand Palladium Palace in early May. How is the water at the beach this time of year? We have been to Punta Cana 8 times before and know that the water can be calmer at certain areas of the beach and at certain seasons. We have not been there in May.

Cannot comment about the month (but think it will be fine). The beach is gorgeous.

For me it is the best side, as it makes a little bay. Better than the Iberostrar/GBP beach, after the vendors’ lines.

Gran Palladium Palace shares the beach with GP Punta Cana and Bavaro. There are not many palapas but lots of Palm trees. The Hotel beach is wide.

Hope this helps.

The only time the beach was slightly rough was when a storm was passing.

All other times, there are the soft rolling waves that make it great for swimming. Temps will be nice and warm in MAY

Hi was there two years in a row first week of May. May of 2009 it was windy quite a few days so the waves were a little rougher. May of 2010 the weather was beautiful very small waves. Pretty much luck of the draw on the weather. Enjoy the Palladium both years would go back in a heart beat.

However got a really good deal this May at Majestic Elegance so will be going there this year. Have fun hope this helps.

the water/waves conditions on that Beach depend on the daily changing weather and Tides conditions as usual, impossible to predict for a specific time period in advance or to calculate such for a whole month/whole week etc.

the Cortecito Bay where the Palladium is located, is by far not the calmest part of the bavaro mainstrip, but not overly rough neither.

during a northern Breeze and on tops of the Tidal changes the waves there can be very rough, dangerous for the speedboats to board and unboard passengers, but most Time of the year it is a beautiful Beachstretch for safe swimming and playing in the waves. the roughest Portion/Part of the Cortecito Bay is in the Area of the Palladium Bavaro/Occ. Grand Flamenco/Bavaro princess/Paradisus Punta Cana, with the Paradisus as the Peak Point, due a opening in the Reefline east of the paradisus, when standing on the Beach of the bavaro Princess Watersports Center that's the point when looking straight out on the Ocean(60 degrees direction), the opening is the spot/location where you can observe the fishing boats going in and out over the Reef, that small location, just a couple hundred yards wide, allows the Tides/Waves to enter the Bay nearly Unbroken by the Reef, hence the increased Wave activity at the above mentioned ASrea including the Palladium's Northern Portion/The Pall bavaro etc.

Happy travels

I was there at the end of March one year and have never seen the water more clear, turquoise and gorgeous. I am sure May will be spectacular. Again the conditions always depends on what is going on with the weather, locally and off shore.
