Golf

Hi all,

Wouldnt mind playing around while down there. How are the courses in and about Punta Cana? Looking for recommendations as well as prices for green fees and club rentals.

I dont care if I have to walk, but would want a caddy. Also, if there are any fees for non-players etc...

Staying at Dreams Punta Cana.

Thanks

Map showing all golf courses in Punta Cana http://www.puntacanagolf.net/map

(White Sands is closed now)

Top class course: Punta Espada Next best: La Cana, Corales, Iberostate, (Faldo Legacy is closed for maintenance), Decent: all the rest.

Courses with ocean front holes: Punta Espada, La Cana, Corales, Faldo Legacy.

Club rental runs between 40 and 60$US. There is usually a rider fee (around 35$US) for non players.

Good Tee Time company who also provide transportation http://www.golfreservationcenter.com

What about Cocotal? Is it a decent course?

Cocotal is a nice resort course...no caddies and about $160 for golf and cart..$40 for clubs. Walkers on most courses start at 1pm.

We are staying at the Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real for 8 nights starting on June 12th. our travel agent said that our package will include 4 rounds of golf for each of us (3) traveling. What is the catch? Will they charge us $50 each for cart fee? This course from their website appears to be completely inland is that correct?

The inland courses are more forgiving .... I have played La Cana and all the ocean holes have a great view .... but the ocean is like one big ... "MAGNET" ......lol.
