Catalonia Royal Bavaro

We are going to Catalonia Royal Bavaro next week. Does anyone know if the deluxe rooms have sea view, and is it worth paying for the upgrade? Does anyone have an email address for the hotel?

Some of the rooms may have a distant sea view, we stayed in one of these rooms for one night during our stay a few wks ago when our air-con was broken, and wouldnt pay for the upgrade. The rooms are newer and slightly bigger with a nicer bath room, however our room in the block next door as more than adequate.

Thanks for the reply Getawaypeople. We were hoping to upgrade to a pool suite for which Thomson charge a supplement of £513 for the two weeks, but unfortunately Thomson don't have one available during our holiday. They phoned CRB for us, and they wanted $3360 for the upgrade! The deluxe room is only an extra $40 per night but the lady at Thomson said Deluxe room with sea view.

If you have a sea view it won't be the best sea view and you have the water feature infront of the tapas resturant which is quite big, then the infinity pool area then the beach with all the palm trees. It's not like the deluxe rooms are located at the beach edge or anything they are abit back from the beach only giving a distant sea view ( if any) IMHO.

A great resort you can't go wrong with, we loved it.....

needsomesun DO NOT BOOK A POOL SUITE THROUGH THOMSON! We did and 24 hours before we left we was told the £513 upgrade cost is a mistake and not for the pool suites but infact for a honeymoon room(?) i strongly suggest if you have booked this that you ring Thomson asap

The words EXCLUSIVE POOL SUITE were even printed on our tickets :-(

Guess that explains the difference between the £513 quoted by Thomson for the upgrade and $3360 by the hotel. Think we'll maybe put that towards our next trip later in the year, although we may treat ourselves to the deluxe upgrade. I know Getawaypeople said it's not necessary and I appreciate your advice. Good to know you enjoyed your stay there.

p.s. Mentioning Thomson wasn't an invite for an ad in the middle of the thread!

We did not bother as we knew the transfer time from airport to hotel was only 10 mins max.
