Steve's corner bar

Hi all,

We have been to Punta Cana twice and are heading back, have heard a lot of great things about Steve's and want to try it on our next journey. How far is it from the Majestic Colonial? Can we walk there?

Thanks in advance!!

No you can't walk there. The cab ride is prob 15-20$ each way. As to get your money's worth don't just go to Plaza Bavaro for Steve's. There are grocery stores if you want to get coffee and vanilla, there is a casino to try your luck, and various tourist souvenir shops. I would take a taxi to El Cortecito first (it is a bit further) visit the grocery store for rum, coffee and vanilla, Los Pinos Plaza (sarongs and those really colourful paintings), and cussie boutique for higher end and different type of souvenirs, hats, sarongs, sandals, belts bathing suits, rum and jewelry. Then take the taxi back to Plaza Bavaro area for Steve's, maybe the Casino, then head back. Now if you have nothing to buy in the way of souvenirs no need to take any detour.

It is about a 10 minute taxi ride - cost is $15 from the Majestic for the taxi.

It is in Cortecito - just outside the road leading to the Occidental Grand. Too far to walk.

A fun place !!

OK - bit of a stupid question here.....do they serve food? We are really looking forward to this - we have done all the "tours" we want to do and are looking for something different off resort. Thanks for the help so far :)

I just found my menu from Steve's...

German Sausage, wraps, chips, chicken tenders, meatballs, quesadillas and sandwiches, and all are very reasonably priced.

cheers, debbie

personally..I have had the curry sausage at steves..it was awesome. BUT FOR ME..i do not consider steves bar to be any kind of attraction. do not get me wrong it is fine if that is the scene you like ..but for me. no thanks. HOWEVER the sausage was excellent.

Debbie

I never realized they had so many food options! That is great to know for next time.

It seems that all good meeting spots or the good old high school/college hang out spots were anything but fancy were they?

Steves just seems to be in the right spot, beer is cold, rum is plentiful, plenty of chairs and lots of good friends dropping in for a meet n' greet -

A fun place !!
