Choosing which Adult Only resort - HELP!!!

So a group of 6 of us (mid 30's) were about to book Excellence Punta Cana for a week in October -- we wanted to wait a week or two to see if the prices went down. It appears now that they have no availability the week we want to go. SO --- we need to find another option.

Here is what is important to us (and why we settled on Excellence). We were looking for:

1) An adult only resort where we didn't have to go to a "family side" for restaurants. We are staying 7 nights and wanted to remain on an adults side with plenty of restaurant options without kids.

2) We also wanted a beach volleyball court on the adult side (not having to compete with kids and teens to play some of the recreational sports.....volleyball, tennis, etc....)

3) A relaxing environment, preferably with a swim up bar and mid-top shelf liquor in the all inclusive.

4) Food that is better than 'decent'.

ANY HELP!?!

Thanks,

Brad

Have a look at the Grand as it may fit your needs. Great swim up bar, lots of activities if you choose to partake. You can dine at all 4 Iberostars if you choose.

Most adults only resorts in punta cana are part of large resort properties. Excellence is kind of unique in that regard.

Best option would be Iberostar Grand. Barcelo Bavaro Beach and Catalonia Royal Bavaro would be options as well.

royal suites turquesa. while it is a part of the larger palladium complex..it has two restaurants of its own and honestly the service and food was so good that we did not venture to the other palladiums restaurants..and we know they are good also as we have been two times to the other palladiums.

as for activities..not sure..nothing at pool ..i do think you would have to venture to the family areas for volleyball ect..but these are adult games..have never seen kids participating in over thirty trips to DR

should have also added..good selection of alcohol..including in the royal restaurants they bring around a drink cart after dinner..i ended every night with a nutty irishman martini (frangelico and baileys) the swim up bar and the bar in the swim out room section had lots of choice including smirnoff flavored vodkas..malibu rum..johnny walker ect.

food was really good..chatauebriand for two was wonderful in the french restaurant as was the snapper and queen lobster in the gourmet.

Look into Secrets Royal beach. It is on my short list for my next adult only stay.

Thanks so much. Just wondering if two restaurants at Turquesa is enough of a choice for 7 nights.

Have you tried looking thru other sites or another TA? Often times a site will run out of their alloted rooms but other sites will still have availability for the same resort. Just a thought.

It's hard to believe that they don't have three rooms available in October....
