Catalonia Royal Bavaro

Thinking about Catalonia Royal for step son's wedding. Like the Adults only. Does this mean I won't hear Marco Pollo. Do they actually keep this section adults only.

Yes, it's entirely adults only. It's directly beside the family Catalonia but they can't come over. They post security guards to shoo them away. You can go there and use all their restaurants and facilities. The Royal has their own private beach too. It's a very quiet resort. No animation team. Of course they have that sort of thing next door if you wish to participate in pool and beach games etc.

Catalonia Royal is a wonderful venue for a wedding. They don't do that many so there's some chance you'll get some more personal attention from the wedding coordinator.

I think that is what we are looking for. We went to the Ecellence in April 2011. That was the best. How does this resort compare.

I have not been to Excellence. That is an entirely adult only, not attached to a family resort. I gather it's much more upscale. It's certainly a lot more money to stay there. Excellence is one of the furthest resorts from the airport, Catalonia is very close. The sea is very calm, no waves to body surf whereas Excellence can have some surf too powerful to go in due to undertow. I think you'd find the ambience very similar but my concern would be your expectations for a grand lobby, fancier rooms might be a bit disappointing. If seriously interested it's too bad you couldn't go see for yourself before committing to wedding plans. I would get married at Cat Royal in a heartbeat but I know it might not be for everyone.

Thanks Margadagio. I think this resort is just what we are looking for, close to the airport and lots to do, if you want to. Would you recommend a room upgrade?

I always stay in the standard rooms but many folks prefer the Deluxe rooms. They are slightly larger and have more modern bathrooms with large shower. Not an expensive upgrade. The Honeymoon suites are located at the end in building 36 which is closer to the beach. They have a nice large wrap around balcony. The most modern and upscale are the villas with your own infinity pool. That's definitely a pricey upgrade but worth it if you can afford it.

I think it's the ambience and wonderful service. Love the beach and calm waters. I appreciate always being able to find a lounger almost any time of day and since there's so much natural shade it's usually good to find a nice shady spot, even if we have to drag our chairs there. I love the natural juice bar on the beach. A woman peels fruits and veg then prepares fresh juices for you. There's a menu with numerous health drinks, some with natural honey. Delicious and so good to keep hydrated between alcoholic drinks.

Hi! As Marg has already stated, the CRB has some of the some wonderful, friendliest staff and service orientated staff you will ever come across.

The food is subjective though (as many of the reviews touch upon!) Personally I love it but my wife is not so keen, but, always finds something substantial to eat.

Marg didn't say it, but she has been there a few times now just like myself. We are actually returning there again early December and just cannot wait.

If you want peace, quiet and tons of excellent service this is the place to go in a heartbeat. Don't look at the negatives reviews, they are all about people who are exceptionally fussy and just need to moan about something. Most of them, obviously, are above being pleasant, curteous and conversational with the staff at this resort.

Marg: When are you due back?? Sometime soon?

Paul, I'm returning 44 days from now. Oct 2. Daughter and I so excited to return. You're right about the staff. Never a problem. Unlike a recent review complaining the resort wasn't "American enough", we enjoy the European/Spanish/Hispanic guests and cosmopolitan flair. To each their own.
