Here is a link to a great site that explains accomodations in detail. Scoll down to the RST section, then click on the blue 'facilities' hyper-link:

What is difference between royal junior suite deluxe and a junior suite royal? Of course they have the same categories only with swim ups so know they are ground floor with pool access from the room. Appears there is a newer section too..are they all near the beach which is best part of our holiday.

The newer section is furthest from the beach and is the section with the swim-up rooms.

Sometimes room names are not set by the resort but by the tour company selling the rooms - so the same room type can have several different names.

Scroll down further on that accomodations link. Also on that link provided, there is a "resort information" column on your left side. If you select 'resort map' and scroll down to the detailed individual map of the RST, you can see where the accomodation buildings are in relationship to the beach.

That site is quite comprehensive and will answer virtually any question you may have regarding this resort, even down to email contacts for special requests!

The "search" feature at the top of this center column on this page is also another great way to read about prior postsa and replies to commonly-asked

questions.

Happy Travels!

I have a long description of the differences in the room categories of the RST, but it's at home on my computer, will post it when I get home

Comparing RST room catagories

in the phase 2 or newer section of the RST all the rooms are very nice major differences would be layout and that the deluxe JS do not have the vapor shower or as large of jetted tub.

between the romance, deluxe and the cabana/honeymoon villas the difference would be the layout

pros and cons IMHO

romance suite

pros

large open room

large jetted tub

2 sliding doors

double length terrace

toilet and vapor shower in a separate room

cons

no real couch, just a upholstered bench with arms

the jetted tub is right in front of the sliding doors with views out to the pool

the stairs that provide pool access in buildings 53 & 54 are shared with the other swim up rooms ( ie each room does not have its own stairs)

53 & 54 where the romance suites are located have the most swim up rooms per pool so it IMHO it may feel less private and because of the access to the rooms many guests use the edge of the terrace to access and leave their rooms.

deluxe suite

pros

sleeping area is divided from the sitting area

toilet and vapor shower in a separate room

2 tvs

jetted tub does face directly to the sliding glass doors but the view is a wall so it may be possible to have the drapes open while using the tub

real couch

terrace is very private and the swimming area feels more private because there is no neighbor directly beside you

cons

I have read reports that since the sitting area has a couch and a coffee table it can be a little tight to move around this furniture

terrace is the smallest of the suites in the phase 2 section

depending on which building you are in you could have more people accessing the pool by your swim up area ( ie building 55 facing the little bar)

honeymoon/cabana suite

Pros

separate sleeping and living room

totally closed bathroom

outside entrance to your room

2 terraces or balconies ( one facing the morning sun, but this sun is partially blocked by the building facing you, and one with afternoon sun)

swim up access has the stairs in better positions, while the steps were shared we did not have to walk in front of the other terraces to access them ( this would be the same in any of the suites in 55, 56, 57,58 & 59)

cons

the jetted tub is high and some care is needed getting in and out ( just my observation)

the tub is not really big enough for 2

because the rooms are separate some may feel they are small ( another guest who viewed our room preferred her deluxe JS because it was all open concept)

Deluxe JS

Pros

Open concept

Open bathroom design ( mirror does make a bit of a room divider so you cant actually see the toilet and shower stalls from the bed)

Cons

Jetted tub not really big enough for 2 ( not comfortably)

royal JS

pros

potential for great beach views

closer to the beach

jetted tub is sl larger then the ones in the deluxe JS

cons

decor not as updated ( but still nice)

no room service door ( not that room service ever put food in mine LOL they always came to the door)

depending on location there may at times be noise from the disco ( building 52)

honeymoon suites

pros

large rooms with a very large balcony with a jetted tub on the balcony

potential for great beach views

closer to the beach

cons

same as the royal JS
