The Royal Suites Turquesa by Palladium

Hi there

We've had a rough time deciding where to go for our honeymoon as you could probably see through my other forum questions haha

I think RST might be the right place compared to the rest.

Just a few questions if anyone has the time to answer.

Is there a/c in the rooms? (hubby wants to know lol)

I'm trying to figure out the best room for us. We want a honeymoon suite, or whatever they have available for honeymooners, BUT are they really far away from the ocean, pool, and restraunts? How is this resort laid out.

I would love a room that I can sit on my balcony and see nothing but ocean.

If anyone knows a room number or section they could advice us, that would be awesome.

Also, we heard of 3 excursions....zip lining, shark swim, and catamaran dolphin swim.

Does anyone know for sure that we can do these things and how much cash I should bring for the,?

Thank you very much!

The swim-up suites at RST are very popular for honeymoons. They are not oceanview though. I think there may be a few honeymoon suites that do have ocean view...

All the rooms have air conditioning as well as a ceiling fan.

There is a lot of info about RST here: palladiumaddict.net/dominican-republic-punta…

And maps of the entire complex here: palladiumaddict.net/dominican-republic-punta…

Hope this helps. I'll let someone else answer about the excursions.

Oh wow, I didn't realize it was so huge/connected to others.

thank you for the links, very helpful.

Are we allowed to use the other resorts for things like the tennis courts, restaurants, etc?

And yes, if someone could please tell us about excursions that would be great.

As an RST guest you have full access to the entire complex. Plus you can get your butler to make restaurant reservations for you so you can walk past the line-ups. They will also take you anywhere you want in the golf carts, so you don't have to wait for the tram.

The Royal gourmet restaurant is really good too, very close and no reservation required. We were there in April and never had a problem getting seated right away.

I'll still let someone else answer about the excursions. We didn't do any.

Patrons of the RST can use all restaurants. If you are not a patron of the RST you cannot use The Royal Gourmet or Le Chanterelle. I have done para sailing and in April did zip lining.... And I am a Grandmother and would do both again.

Hi

We went independently to PC in October and for our excursions used a company called el tour caribe. They covered everything - zip lines, snorkel and scuba, sharks and stingrays, catamaran's, horseback tours - fabulous!! They pick you up at your resort ( so no catching cabs to local departures) - and make sure you get back safely. They'll even arrange something specific for your needs - very personal and much better than some of the larger tour operators. Our tours varied in price but were very competitive - you could always e-mail them in advance for info about their trips and prices so you are prepared beforehand.

the honeymoon suites in the older section may have sea views depending on the location and floor level ( the palm trees are tall) there are 15 honeymoon suites in the older/sea side section. the honey moon suites are lovely and large boasting cream coloured furniture, a 4 poster bed with decorative drapes, and an extra large balcony with a jetted tub on it with privacy drapes. we have stayed in the honeymoon suite and it was my husbands fav room ( have been to the RST 9 X) all of the rooms in the older/sea side section are close to the beach and main pool ( not really old built in 05 or 06 I believe, and scheduled for refurbishing in low season ( fall ) that said I would have no issues staying in this section as I love the beach/pool views. the resort also offers a dinner for honeymooner ( its in a buffet, but is set up like a wedding reception)

I never got notified that there were more responses lol I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier!

We're just in love with this place so far. Everything sounds amazing.

Sukie, I've been having a hard time figuring out which room would be best. All I care for is a swim up, and a pretty room. Would you suggest the honeymoon suite or are the deluxe junior suites just as accommodating? They all have butler service and swim up no?

Angey, we have had the deluxe jr suite swim up 2 years in a row and loved it. We have booked it again for our trip this February.

For the 2 of us there is plenty of space and we have never felt the need to upgrade to a Romance Swim Up or Deluxe Suite Swim up.

Oh awesome, thank you! We just didn't want to spend a few hundred more for a giant fancy room if there really isn't that big of a difference. We're two people that have only ever been to Cuba...and 3 stars at best, and loved all of the places we've been to, so Im sure this is going to spoil us rotten :D

I can't wait to spend our honeymoon here :D

I am not that experienced with the RST in Punta Cana - we only stated there once 2 weeks ago (and *5 times in Riviera Maya), but as far as I know the swim out rooms are located in a newer part of the RST and they have no ocean view as they are located inland so you will not see the ocean from these.

We stayed at the villa #55 there but not in the swimout room but on the second floor so the swimout room was on a ground floor. They looked really good and the swimout pool was very private and quiet with the build in loungers in the shallow part of the pool and the deep inside part good for the swimming. There was a small bar (not the swim up) by this pool and I often saw people from the rooms next to it come there to chat with the neighbors and a bartender.

The newer part is located further from the beach and central pool (5 min walk at max) but closer to the restaurant and gym/spa (2 min at max). If you are staying at the beach section of the RST you will be 1-2 min to the beach and 4-5 min to the restaurant/gym/spa. A trade off:(

it goes in the following order starting from the ocean:

beach/ocean

older section with the bigger pool in the middle

lobby

newer section

restaurants/spa/gym

and from there you can go further to another parts of the GP plus sport facilities like tennis or the entertainment like theater casino etc.
