This map will show you most of the resorts in Punta Cana,

The original Bavaro Beach Bay would be around Barceló resorts and very calm waters most year round.

If you can give more info as to what you would like from the resort we can point you in the right direction.

Big resort, small resort?

Lots of day and night activities?

Food? Lots of Ala Cartes?

Adults only?

Most importantly your price range.

Palladium might fit. It has unlimited a la cartes, and a stay at one play at three policy. There is also an adults only section called Royal Suites Turquesa where you would be able to get swim-up suites, a la cartes exclusive to RS guests but have access to the other three sections. I love the beach in that area, but, like most of the resorts in Punta Cana, snorkeling is not good.
