Bavaro Princess / Punta Cana Princess

Hey everyone,

What are the main/significant differences between these 2 resorts? I know PCP is adults only. Other than that, which do you prefer and why?

This is for a couple in their late 20's. Don't need or want a crazy party atmosphere, but don't want a resort that's TOO quiet either.

Thanks

We've been to PCP 2 years ago and returning at the end of March. We are a couple in our early 50's and for us it is just perfect. Kind on the quiet side in the evenings but that all depends on the guests that's there at that time. I remember when we were there, there were a few evenings that were pretty lively down at the Mare Nostrum. (beach bar/restaurant opened 24hrs). We had a great time. Never been to the Bavaro, but did hear that it was a great resort with plenty to do and quite lively.

Hola: Been to both. Like pathfinder, we went for R & R, but if you wanted more "action" you just went over to the sister resorts. Bavaro Princess is very large, and had plenty of activities. Both would be fine for you, but maybe would lean towards Bav. Princess.

Good luck

Thanks for the quick replies.

If we goto PCP, does that give us FULL access to BP? And how long of a walk is it between the 2?

Thanks again.

I believe you only have access to Caribe/Tropical Princess from PCP.

Barb is right, you don't have access to the BP just the Caribe and Tropical, although I did stop at the BP and they did gave us a couple of beers.

When I was at PCP in October I had access to the BP grounds and was able to tour their mangroves one morning. But I don't know if you'd be able to eat/drink there. It wasn't that close of a walk from PCP to BP.

From PCP to Tropical and Caribe, it is a quick walk, and if you stay at PCP you have access to pretty much everything at those two, including reservations at their a la cartes.

PCP had a relaxed "beachy" feel to it, and that was what I enjoyed. BP had a more refined or higher end feel than PCP in my opinion. BP is also larger than PCP, so there is a greater distance between the beach and the lobby.

We were at PC Princess and loved it, but we are mid-late 40's. You can access the 2 other resorts with less than a 5 minute walk. I walked over one morning and the bar was in full swing at 9 a.m. I just wanted a water. LOL. The PC Princess can be quiet or lively, you just have to seek it out.

We met a couple on a day trip who were at the Bavaro Princess, had been to many resorts, and had nothing good to say about it.

The beach is beautifu at both. Good luck in you choice.

Oops, I meant to say, the couple we meet had nothing but good TO SAY. They thought it was great and they were seasoned travellers. Sorry for the typo.

Been to both also. They are two different resorts in size and feel. The BP is very large, and inconveniently so at times. Walk walk walk to get anywhere and do anything. Good for those that can't sit still, bad for those who want to sit and do nothing. It has a great location right in the plaza Bavaro area and near two popular discos and the casino. I loved the food. The beach is very wide and quite deep, but they have set up fairly new VIP platinum ares which in my opinion make me feel like I did not pay enough to be treated well..the grounds are very gorgeous and the rooms have been renovated so that is a good ting. The set up of them is very unique.

The PCP is quiet and laid back. Ultra small, no need for a tram. Late 30's to 50's age group in general. But the fun is in the flexibility. A hop skip and jump away is the sister property caribe/tropical princess. There the atmosphere is lively, evening production type shows, lobby parties, activities all day, 3 pools, etc. nice beach at both also. Not as convenient in locations but still not bad.

Stay at PCP play at caribe and tropical. Stay at caribe and tropical, stay put. Stay at Bavaro princess stay put, book platinum upgrade to the BP and play at all of them. They are located about 15 mins apart. The PCP and caribe tropical are basically beside each other, then 10mins away will get you to the BP.

Large or small, active or not, location. Those are the main differences

Thanks for the great replies!

To be honest, I'm still not sure which resort to book. There are some things I like that I'm reading about PCP, such as no reservations at the a la cartes... and some things that sound good about BP, like being more lively/active.

I guess we have some thinking to do! Thanks again for all the help.
