Has anyone been to the Chocolate Museum in Punta Cana? Would you recommend it?
if you love chocolate then yes they have chocolate infused rums very tasty ther is also a cigar factory on same property along with a SOUVENER SHOP prices not bad worth the trip
I would definitely recommend spending a few hours of your vacation to go see this place. They have tour guides that can give you a little tour and explain about the entire cocoa progress from bean to chocolate and you can have samples of their chocolate from the bar as well as chocolate tea, rum, etc. They have so many things to buy - not just chocolate. You can also get like beauty products with organic cocoa butter as well as souvenirs.
Right next door you have Don Lucas cigar factory where you can see how they hand roll Dominican cigars and they also have a fairly large souvenir shop (Mundo Autentico) where you can get all of your souvenirs and jewelry (e.g. Larimar and Amber). They have a very nice selection and prices too. Transportation is free if you book it!
If you want to know the chocolate history and love it, yes you can go to the museum, there you'll learn all about it and prove the different kind of chocolate.
You will know about the history for different industries and could see the olds chocolate machines.Edited: 26 June 2013, 21:50
How far from Excellence is the Chocolate Museum and cigar factory?
According to their website, it's down by Barcelo Bavaro, so quite far from Excellence.
Not so far, I thnk from the Ambar...hmmmm chocolate......YAY!
Does anybody know how much a trip to this area is? Would like to see all the above listed factories/shops :)
I'll be at the Dreams Palm Beach :) Ta!
We went there as part of PC Mike's tour. There may be other tours that include a stop there.
Dreams PB to chocolate museum is 15 minutes more or lest, The Bahia P is 25 minutes
