Flying to PUJ with Air Canada on aeroplan points

Hello

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has flown to PC on aeroplan points before. We are booked for Feb, and I am wondering if tourist cards and departure fees were included, or are they paid in addition..

Thanks in advance

Cheers

The DR fees are part of any "taxes and fees" extra you would have paid for your flight using points.

Yes, I bet it wold take most many-a-moon to collect that many points. My hub is a consultant. He flies all over the world business/first. His company allows him to personally collect the points. They also allow him to purchase the tickets himself with his own points earning credit card and be reimbursed later... So for us they tally up quite quickly. Very nice perk indeed.. :)

We always use Aeroplan for a package vacation. We max out at $1400 worth so we pay the balance plus the taxes. Makes higher end resorts within our reach :) My husband drives for a living and gas is expensive so we may as well get some vacations partially paid for, right?

Entry and exit are definitely included.

Jennyleigh1,

We have thought about exploring that option for our next trip.. Do you know how many points it takes to max out at $1400?. Have you price compared by doing it either way? (Using points toward a package. Vs. using points to get your flight, and purchasing the hotel separately) Just curious....

Points definitely makes the trip more cost effective. We'll be at Cat Royal for 8 nights in Feb for about $1300 each, which is far cheaper than any non sell-off price I've ever seen for that property at that time of the year... Worth every last penny, and then a few. :)

Cheers

I'm pretty sure it's 170,000 aeroplan miles. We have never done a real price comparison between booking the package and booking hotel and flight separately. The convenience factor is what keeps us with the air Canada vacations packages

We paid about the same for Ambar last year around Easter....
