Tourist Card

I understand that everyone has to purchase a $10 tourist card when arriving in Punta Cana. Is there any charge when you're leaving? (I can't remember if that was Punta Cana or Cuba, as we did these trips close together!)

Are you from Whitby Ontario Canada?. If so Canadian airlines pay the 10$ entry fee and 20$ exit fee except if your flying Sunwing.

Thanks! Yes, I believe it is Sunwing. So we have to pay both then?

Yes, you'll have to pay both with Sunwing. You can get the $10 tourist card online here:

Yes if your flying Sunwing you have to pay the 10$USD to get in and 20$UD to get out.

For the 10$ entry you can either choose to pay when you arrive at the airport or you can buy them in advance at the below link and print them out. Buying in advance will allow you to bypass the purchasing line at the airport and head straight to customs. If your on a shared transport you would still have to wait for your bags and then wait for everyone else on your bus to get through the airport but at least it is one less line that you have to wait in.

The 20$ exit fee is paid at the airport the day your departing back to Canada.

Don't forget that the currency is US dollars only, and that you must pay cash (no cards accepted). Always best to leave aside the money for departure day.

Definitely get it online before you leave. It saved us a 30 min wait. Happy vacation!!!!
