WE think it is the BEST time to go.

We have been there also in June, July, August, October.

We will not go during spring break times so that crosses off mid Feb-April.

Prefer to spend winter holidays with family at home, so no Nov-Dec.

But a week or two after New Years we are tiring of our winter weather, and eager to hit the beach!

Temps in PC are great, in the 80sF, plenty of sunshine each day, a few brief showers some mornings/evenings. And the HUMIDITY is LOW compared to the other four months in which we have traveled there. Very comfortable eating in open air settings.

It's not going to be the most expensive time nor the least expensive time of the year (I believe that is Sept when the likelihood of hurricanes and related storms is highest), but it is our favorite. We'll be back January 2014!

My friend and I are actually wondering the same thing... Does it get pretty crowded in late January? We are headed there from Jan 23rd to Feb 2nd... Also, both single ladies... whats the night life like that time of year? Sorry for crashing this thread, I really couldn't find any updated info on these topics...

Cassandra, We always go in January every year and also October. The nightlife really depends on where you are staying. I have stayed at resorts where there was standing room only at the disco and then Been to the same Disco where our group was the only group in the disco. However It is nice to mingle with other guest but I always have a blast even if we are by ourself. I like to have fun no matter what! Have a good trip. I have no doubt you will love it. They have a show in the evening at all the resorts I have been to (many) and then usually the Disco opens.

This is great to hear. We just booked Iberostar Bavaro for family vacation Jan 3 to 12. My wife and I have been to Excellence PC before but really looking forward to seeing this part of the island.
