What currency of money should I take to use in punta Cana? Ei American, Canadian etc??

American $$ is the best,

You can also use DR Peso, but most guests just bring USD

You can place an order with your bank for USD, if they dont have it on hand.

But some things are cheaper in pesos...you have to pay attention. ...usd accepted everywhere

yes, some things are a bit cheaper if paid in pesos, as the dollar rates are always "rounded up", but keep in mind that it also costs money to buy Pesos, as it always costs money to purchase any foreign currency, those banks always make a buck out of any action. so as long as a traveler doesn't plan on spending a couple thousand dollars at bars/resorts/shops off the resorts, so long a exchange into Pesos is not necessary.

Small US dollars, I bring lots of 1's & 5's. Easier to tip with and sometimes, it can be difficult to break down a $20.
