Breathless Punta Cana - what are your thoughts?

Hello,

My Boyfriend and I are thinking of booking the Breathless Punta Cana. Just have a few questions are your thoughts?

1. How is the night club?

2. Since the a la cartes require no reservations - does it get very busy?

3. What was your favorite resto/food?

4. What is the standard room like?

5. Is there premium liquor included?

6. Is there a games room?

7. What are the nightly shows like?

8. It seems in the pictures the décor is very modern? Does it still feel like the tropics?

Any tips or suggestions?

Thank you!!!

1. How is the night club?

The nightclub was okay. After the third day the music seemed repetitive, but people were able to request music. The Bar and bartenders all over the property were pretty good including the night club.

2. Since the a la cartes require no reservations - does it get very busy? A couple of the restaurants had an hour to an hour and a half wait. Spumante because of how busy it was and Silk City because, I believe, it is Hibachi and they wanted to fill the table. The food in all of the restaurants, including the buffet, were very good. My only complaint was the amount of time to get your food after you placed your order some times.

3. What was your favorite resto/food? Spumante

4. What is the standard room like? It is about the size of a hotel room. It is very chic I would say. He mini bar is refilled every day. There is a Jacuzzi on each patio and we were fortunate to get a room with a swim up pool which was nice. I would have liked the ability to make the room a little brighter when needed. THey have a lot of light sources but the way the were position it still wasn't light enough for my liking.

5. Is there premium liquor included? It is included but you have to request it.

6. Is there a games room? The night club has a foosball table and a couple of pool tables. I beleive it opens around 5pm. There is also a SMALL casino.

7. What are the nightly shows like? They were good. I especially liked the Circus, and the Beach Party.

8. It seems in the pictures the décor is very modern? Does it still feel like the tropics?

It is modern in the restaurants and buildings, but by the pool, beaches, and outdoor bars it felt tropical.

Here is a link to my photo album: http://www.slickpic.com/u/Lovethesun

The room shots are of Xhale rooms. Non Xhale rooms are similar, minus the sofa and coffee table.

If you send me your email via PM, I have much more information that I can send via .pdf.

Do you have to wear long pants at any of the restaurants (if so which ones) , or can you get away with smart shorts?

Long pants are required at the French restaurant, Coquette. Otherwise, all of the other a la cartes require bermudas, or "smart shorts" as you put it. Their dress code specfically says this, however way too many are allowed in wearing cargo shorts that look like they were rolled up in a ball for a month. They assured me that they were going to start enforcing the dress code. I hope that is the case.
