Touching down noon Monday, early check in possible?

I expect we will reach Colonial before official check in. Any opinion if we will be able to get checked in upon arrival?

Always depending on what they have available, this time of year it seems unlikely. They will usually get you checked in and get your bracelet on then send you for some lunch and tell you to come back in an hour, sometimes even then it might be just a little longer, as they will check but not be ready yet. After a cold drink and some good eats you will get to your room.

We take a bathing suit in our carry on so that we can take a dip to cool off if the rooms are not ready right away. And they will keep your luggage safe while you eat or take a stroll.

It would all depend on if your room is ready. I have arrived early and had no problems, I have also arrived early and had to wait.

Hit and miss with that. If you touch down at noon, disembark the plane, clear customs, and get your luggage - likely 1:00 pm. Probably 30 mins to the resort. Allow some delays through this process - you are at the resort at, say, 2:00 p.m. - probbaly 50 / 50 your room is ready - depends on volume of entering and exiting guests. Check the times for the departing flights that day. Check in is usually 3:00 p.m. You get checked in early no problem - if the room is not ready, you go for lunch. By the time your lunch is concluded - your room should be ready.

Take a change of clothing in your carry on.

Have a wild time.

You'll be able to check-in, but you probably won't get your room right away, because they'll need time to make-up the room after people check-out, and it will likely be high occupancy at this time of year. But you'll be able to go have lunch, change into bathing suits, etc. until your room is ready. Pack some beach wear in your carry-on.

How about the first week of June? What do you think the chances are there?

tpoid3,

There truly is no way to be able to tell until you arrive - however, do not be disappointed if you cannot get into your room right away - after all, you will be in Paradise and you will be able to use all the resorts services and amenities in the interim.

It is a good time to take a walk around the resort to get your bearings - after stopping at each bar along the way of course !! LOL !

Have a wonderful time in Punta Cana.
