Wedding at Riu Palace Bavaro

We are in the midst of making arrangements for a wedding in November, 2014 at the Riu Palace Bavaro, but a few items on their price list has caused me to pause. For instance, they want to charge $18.00 per person to serve alcohol at the reception??? A bit odd since everyone attending will have already paid for same. They are already charging $20.00 per person for the reception plus $1,000.00 to shut down the restaurant to serve everyone that has already paid. We have only been given the choice of two restaurants for the locale, no conference rooms. Has anyone had the same experience with the Riu Palace Bavaro and if so, how did you address the charges that everyone has already paid at the all inclusive? Mind you there are quite a few other charges on their price list but those I would expect, the above? Not so much.

Since your on the topic of "charges" ....take note their disco is not included and you have to pay for drinks in it.

Yes, we're aware of the disco, but that's not a reception venue either so we can avoid it.
