Best snorkeling excursion?

We are 2 families of 5 (kids ages 12-21) and are staying at the hard rock resort. Anyone have any suggestions for a great snorkeling excursion? Do they have one at the hard rock resort? Do we need to book ahead of time? Would like to find something that leaves right from the resort - is that possible? Thanks!

You might want to consider Bavaro Splash as it's something "different".

The trip consists of snorkeling and driving mini speed boats but a unique thing that you also get to do is called "SNUBA" which is like half snorkel half scuba diving.

Basically in short it's a air hose that allows you to go around 20 feet under water and explore the bottom of the ocean with the fishies.

Here is their review link where you can see pictures of what I am trying to explain about SNUBA lol

Hi! Leaving for PC in 2 weeks. Some posts say to wait to get there to book this SNUBA excursion. Others says to book ahead. Any advice?

Also, the site says beverages are included. Are adult beverages on site?

best price would be booking directly with the company that offers the trip.... many however don't know what they want to do, on which day, while on vacation... So yes you can book the trip when your at the resort..

Normally at each resort in the lobby there is an area with your tour operators desks and they sell many excursions there.. Bavaro Splash is one of them.... you will however pay more then booking directly with the company as the tour reps add commissions to sale.

You can also go down by the beach/pool/water sports center where there might be some excursion sellers.. ( Sorry I don;t know how it is way up North at Excellence)... if there is then you can negotiate the price a bit.. you would likely get it cheaper then the tour reps in the resort but still pay more then booking directly with your resort.

Take note - If your thinking of other excursions then there is some that can only be booked online and well in advance and are not available anywhere else but directly with the company/site offering it such as Punta Cana Mikes and Mike Marina.

Also more of the "private" type trips that only take small groups it is always better to book online and in advance to to secure a spot.

The standard large group trips, such as Bavaro Splash is the type that can be booked anywhere, online, 3rd party online site/travel site, tour reps at hotel, down by beach/pool/watersports center, etc.

sorry made an error... I meant to say.. if you have the option to book down by the beach/pool/water sports center where you can haggle the price you will likely pay cheaper then up at the resort but it will still be more expensive then booking DIRECTLY with the company that offers it...
