Best Adults Only All Inclusive in Punta Cana

We are two ladies in our 30s looking to have a luxury all inclusive adults only 4 day vacation first week of August in Punta Cana. White sand beach, beautiful turquoise water, comfortable beds, good healthy food, generous drinks, good service, oceanfront property with direct beach access are what we are looking for.

Any suggestions are appreciated!

I just got back in to our hotel from walking up and down the beach and looked at quite a few resorts. I am at adults only Ambar and after seeing the others, I couldn't imagine staying anywhere else.

Ambar is amazing and surely has the largest and most private exclusive to adults only beach. Plenty of shaded palapas and chairs. No need to get up at 6am and play the towel game. We walk out at 10 or 11 and there a soooooo many empty shaded chairs. So many resorts dont even have palapas the lay under.

I will post a review upon my return. Ambar has exceeded my expectations in so many ways. You wont be disappointed.

Excellence Punta Cana and Breathless Punta Cana are the only two completely standalone adult only resorts, but they don't have white sand. Sort of a line tan / golden colour. The beaches at these are not crowded and there's very little traffic. These are on Uvero Alto Beach.

As you go south, the sand gets whiter. Iberostar Grand Bavaro is a top end, almost entirely standalone adult only resort. It's part of a mega resort complex, with three other (family) resorts. It tends to be pricey. It's on Arena Gorda Beach.

Also on Arena Gorda Beach, there are the Club sections of Majestic Colonial and Majestic Elegance. These are adult only sections, with most amenities shared with the non-adult only side. There's also the Riu Palace Macao, which is part of the very large Riu complex, and the Bahia Ambar, which is part of by far the largest resort complex (in terms of rooms). Small, crowded beach at Bahia, for the number of rooms.

Royal Suites Turquesa is part of the Grand Palladium complex. Nice, tropical vibe, but only two adult only restaurants. It's on El Cortecito beach. There's also the Punta Cana Princess, which would likely be the least expensive of the bunch. The Paradisus Punta Cana has a Royal Service section, which is adult only, but if I remember correctly, only one restaurant that is adult only.

On Bavaro Beach, where the sand really gets white, there's Secrets Royal Beach. It has a few restaurants, with more dining options, theatre, and casino next door at Now Larimar. Right beside that is Paradisus Palma Real, also with a Royal Service section. It's a more upscale resort than the other Paradisus, and more expensive. Next to that, there's Melia The Level Adult only. It's a section of a large resort. I haven't stayed at Melia since The Level opened this past December. At the far southern end of Bavaro Beach (and the nicest stretch of beach), there's Barceló Bavaro Beach. Guests there have access to the amenities at the much larger Barceló Bavaro Palace Deluxe.

Further south, on Cabeza De Toro Beach, there's the Catalonia Royal Bavaro. I believe it has two restaurants, with other dining options, theatre, and casino next door at Catalonia Bavaro.

I think the top of the line would be Iberostar Grand Bavaro, Paradisus Palma Real, and Excellence.

Out of all of those listed by MHEALTH do any of them have a golf package and/or how close are the courses?

mark i have to disagree with you on one point. About the Ambar. You (and others) constantly mention the small crowded beach at the bahias..while i agree with you..for the GP BAVARO and GP PUNTA CANA.. I do NOT agree with you about the Ambar. That beach is deep..with wonderful service..lots and lots of palapas..and we have never had an issue with crowding. YES the front rows are gone early.. I dont want them any way as I prefer a complete child free atmosphere..and as every beachfront in the DR is NOT private..you will get kids and ppl wandering the waters edge.

can hardly wait to get back for my 30 something visit to the dominican republic in sept.. staying once again at the Ambar..this will be our fourth time there in less than 2 years..and our record for other resorts was 3x as we like to try others, however for US ,, Ambar feels like HOME.

Glad you said it Lynn, I said it myself over and over again in Feb when we were there, while fully booked there was plenty of availability on the beach, and I even posted pics to prove my point! The Ambar beach should not be compared as it is to the remaining GBP properties :)

If you go out to the Ambar beach and just on the other side of the priviledge area at the edge of the property you can get up front palapas but the ocean easy.almost any time of the day. At least thats how its been on this trip. The Iberostar was packed like sardiines, Send me your emaiil and I'll send you photos from this holiday weekend to prove my point

@dj-dale

You can use www.postimage.org to upload pictures and then just post the link of the pictures on this thread.

@Summer K

The Bahia complex is 5 resorts within the complex.. There is a separate section just for entertainment ( a short tram ride from Ambar)... which has outdoor stage with housebands or games, drink service on the terrace, karaoke/sports bar, disco, casino, shopping (both vendors and stores)....... there is shows, etc.

Plenty to do day and night throughout the complex that your never bored.. If you want to send me a PM with your email address I can email you 2 pdf files of the day and night activities that take place.

I'll walk back to the Iberostar tomorrow and get photos and upload both them and the Ambar for all to see. Its a very busy weekend with the 4th of July and I'd say more than half of the Ambar chairs and palapas are available.

Tonights Bahia (Ambar) entertainment schedule has 4 muscial events in the Tropicana Theater, mini disco and Miss Bahia in the Pueblo Principe Town, 70's & 80's party in Conga Bachata, Karaoke in the Sports Bar, White Beach Party....on the beach. Also a big live band performing somewhere and each lobby has a DJ or live band. Thats just tonights schedule.....plenty to do....lol

Dj Dale,

Have you had luck seeing if you can dj at the disco? I know you previously inquired about this.
