Recent Zoetry Reviews...Dreams

My long awaited first trip to Punta Cana is almost here! We are so ready for this vacation, my husband is so overworked he really needs this relaxing trip.

I'm so excited that I read Zoetry reviews and this forum in the morning with my coffee, and the Zoetry reviews have been really good lately, looks like they've worked out any service issues they may have been having.

What irks me is that the Dreams upgrades that we read about in the spring seem to have started again. To be fair it does sound like they are not upgrading groups traveling together, or too many kids. Although one upgrade mentioned 2 kids.

The latest review got upgraded and received taxi rides to Dreams every night of their stay and free nights at Dreams should they return. I highly doubt we would receive free taxi rides every night to go Dreams or Breathless as full paying guests at Zoetry. I don't begrudge anyone who gets upgraded at all, they lucked out. I just again have that feeling that I paid way too much to stay at Zoetry.

Do you think I should bring this up via email before we leave or just let it be? I don't want to sound like a cranky guest, but if they are upgrading people from another resort I do hope to get my requests, new side of resort and close to the beach.

Any opinions out there? Thanks.

What is the difference if you have a great time?

Definitely put your requests out there. Ignore the negative nellies. You are paying a nice amount of money to go to Zoetry. Do what feels right to make it the best it can be - for you. I hope it is wonderful. We previewed the property and thought it was lovely.

Thank you Nicole, I'm going to email my requests but I feel funny mentioning my concerns regarding upgrades. Then again if we get there and I'm not totally happy with our room location I'll be irked to find people upgraded to rooms I was hoping for. Does that make sense?

We booked a Garden View Romantic room, their second lowest level (still expensive!) and our package includes an upgrade to higher level room, but really I'd be fine in that level room I just want to be on the new side. I just like the look of that side more, at least from pictures I've seen.

Also it's our 24th anniversary and we both just turned 45 so it's a special trip for us. Can you tell I'm excited?! Can't wait...

It makes sense to me scincalifornia. If people who paid half as much got better rooms than me, I'd be ticked. Zoetry is a beautiful, lush, tropical resort. I'm sure you'll have a nice time, but yes, it would bother me that Dreams guests are getting that for so much less.

Mark and the taxi rides! I haven't heard of anyone staying at Zoetry getting free cabs to the casinos at Breathless or Dreams. Maybe they are doing it for Zoetry guests now but no one has mentioned it.

Well if they do include you in the free taxi ride thing, then that makes it better. Not a lot of entertainment at Zoetry, so being able to get to Dreams and Breathless for free would be a plus.

We are fine with a lack of entertainment but one night of nightlife would be fun. Our first AI was last summer at Zoetry Casa del Mar and it was beyond quiet at night, which was fine with us.

How far in advance do you think I should email requests? I don't want to do it too early and it gets forgotten or too late that they can't make it happen. Some requests are attached to our reservation, but I wanted to email them directly. We arrive in 3 weeks.

If you booked with the resort directly, then I don't think it matters much how far in advance. From my understanding, if you booked through a travel company, then I don't think they actually get the reservations until 7 to 10 days before you get there. I usually book directly, and I send my requests months in advance, and always get what I asked for. Maybe send your requests now, and follow up with another email a week before you're there.

I can understand your concern as we had our time there impacted with several Dreams guests. The resort is beautiful and you probably won't have too much of an issue since it is not the busiest season.

The new Food and Beverage Manager Felix seemed to be making some positive changes as well. Don't be surprised if he stops to talk to you as he was always out and around at the restaurants.

I don't doubt if the circumstances were different we would have really liked Zoetry.

If time permits an evening at Breathless might be a nice change of pace for you. The French restaurant was one of the best if you are going for dinner. The casino is small but there is live music and great shows. We found Zoetry to be a little too quiet at night. It is nice for a few nights but we like some live music after dinner while enjoying a drink.

I too would be very hacked off if I had paid the price to go to Zoetry and then found people had been upgraded for free from Dreams
