Caribe Club Resort?

Group of 8, looking for a fun party like atmosphere resort. This or the Grand Bahia Bavaro?

Having stayed at both, I'd recommend the Grand Bahia. Caribe is a much smaller property with less amenities. They also only give you alcoholic drinks until midnight at the club. At the Bahia, you get it until they close. (The only place that charges is the Casino, since they aren't owned by the hotel.)

There are also many more restaurants to pick from at the Bahia.

That said, the only pro of Caribe Club Princess is that the beach is wider and less packed. However, we never had a problem finding chairs at the Bahia. Worst case, you give a maintenance guy $2-3 and they'll find the chairs for you.

Was at the Caribe Club Princess in May. There is supposed to be a 24 hour bar by the beach, however, at my age I'm lucky if I'm awake after 10pm so I don't know for sure if it really is open 24 hours.

Thanks for your response. I looked into the Grand Bahia Bavaro and looks like the better option, however due to the size of the resort do you think it may get overcrowded in August?

I already booked for Caribe Club but after seeing reviews I am thinking of changing it to Grand Bahia. Since you stayed at the Grand Bahia, are there a lot of kids there (families)? We want a resort with lots of young adults and a nice party environment.

Both hotels have overnight beach bars with food and drinks (included). However, only the Bahia has a club that has included drinks all night.

We travel to the Bahia over New Years. This is the utmost busiest time of the year, and we've still enjoyed it. So I'm sure August will be fine. :-)

The Bahia is large, but once you find your way around (1 day max), it's fine. There are also trams that run throughout the resort 21 hours a day. (I think they don't run from 3 AM to 6 AM, but I could be mistaken.)

That said, don't stress out too much once you've booked. Usually you end up paying change fees or even cancellation fees to change hotels. Both hotels are very good. During the day, you might even prefer Caribe Club Princess since the best is much wider and more spacious. They also have an icecream/crepe snackbar during the day which the Bahia does not have. In the evening, there is still enough to do. You can always hang out in the club before midnight and then migrate to the beach bar.
