Airport transfers from Santo Domingo

We have decided to stay at the Gran Bahia El Portillo in November. The problem is finding roundtrip airport transfers from Santo Domingo airport. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated.

Depending on who you booked with, (like orbitz, expedia, etc.) there may be shared transfer with a tour operator offered. If you book on the GBP website directly, they offer a shared transfer from SDQ airport for a per person price. A taxi at the airport will take you for $200 total for up to 5 people in a vehicle.

Then there is Dominicanairporttransfers.com and IBK servicios turisticos at ibkservicios.com are two transfer companies recommended on this board often, but they will not be any cheaper than taking an official taxi from the airport and will likely be somewhat more.

Ditto on #1 and #3.

If you don't book in a company that will share the transfer with other tour operators, be ready to pay a LOT of money for that transfer.

Don't you have a flight to Puerto Plata? Closer and cheaper transfer then Santo Domingo.

SDQ is closer and quicker than POP and the taxi is the same fare. Your airfares from NYC are normally less into SDQ. Your least cost option is to take the Caribe Tours bus. This works only if you flight lands during the daytime.

Last bus to either Samana or Sanchez is at 4:30 p.m. which you can catch at the entrance to the toll road a short ride from SDQ. From Sanchez you can catch a cab. There is another bus line that goes to Las Terenas and they too leave by 4:00.

Here's some info on that:

Depends on who is driving. The road is now very good. I do it in under 2 hours.
