GB Cayacoa ... nice restaurant to go to offsite?

Traveling Christmas Day with husband & 14 & 16 yr old sons' to the Bahia Principe Cayacoa.

Would like to go into town one night for a "nice" meal. Want something a bit higher end then a beach bar type restaurant.

Any restaurant suggestions?

La Mata Rosada is a good choice for this. It is about five minutes from Cayocoa. Also you can check out Go Samana website that has all the things you want to know about Samana. Have a good vacation.

Not sure what all is still open there, but we ate at Mata Rosada a couple times 2 years ago and it was a very nice expereince. Bamboo is supposed to be pretty good, but it was closed for the season when we were there.

If you're into adventure (as it's a bit of a ways from the Cayacoa) there is a very nice restaurant in Las Galeras called El Cabito http://elcabito.net/category/restaurant/ that is fabulous and was just featured in Anthony Bordain's show when he was in the DR. It is very informal and you can plan a day trip around going there for an early dinner and maybe even let the boys cliff dive at their place

I know some vacationers like to hang around the resort but to plan a trip to Playa Rincon (Terry that posts here would be my choice) http://www.toursamanawithterry.com/ or even take a boat tour to Playa Fronton or Madame would be the highlight of your trip. Safe and happy travels... Ben

I have reviewed all of these places:

I can also recommend Pizza du Vagabond Great little pizza and Italian food place with awesome ambiance.
