Restaurants near Blue Horizons Garden resort

The Virgin website describes the hotel as having "gourmet dining nearby" my question is does gourmet equal expensive?

Are there any cheaper options? Is there a supermarket nearby to get food as well?

Thanks

There is a grocery store in Spieceland Mall that is a 5 minute walk from Blue Horizons. There are also about 9 restaurants with 5 -1o minute walk.

La Boulangerie Pizzeria & Spaghetteria (down the street from hotel)

Breakfast, lunch & dinner great inexpensive pastries, pizza’s and pastas

La Belle Creole Restaurant and Bar( at Blue Horizons.) Has a fixed menu for dinner and quite nice--a little pricy! Dinner reservations recommended.

Le Chateau (down the street from the hotel)

Inexpensive West Indian cuisine

Garfield’s Beach Bar (just down the beach from the hotel)

Sandwiches and burgers ordered from the Grenada Grand

Sapphire Restaurant & Bar (at the hotel)

Caribbean & French Creole cuisine; excellent pork loin, fish and pastas; breakfast, lunch or dinner; Happy Hour 5 – 6 pm; expensive but one of our favorite's. The serving are hugh so you might want to share.

Shopping Mall (across the street from hotel)

There are several fast food restaurants in the Mall (Chinese, Smoothie Shop, Coffee Shop, Grill Master sandwich shop)

St. George’s Medical School Cafeteria (down the beach from the hotel right before Spice Island Resort and not really a cafeteria, more like lolos)

Inexpensive local foods ie fish sandwich and cold Carib $15 EC

KFC next to the Mall

There are restaurants in Grenada Grand , Flaymboyant , Siesta and Spice Isle hotels.

Blue Horizons cottages have a nice kitchen so you can prepare some of your meals.

I'd also like to add Gibson's, on the same centre as La Boulangerie. It offers daily west indian specials (curries, shark and bake, doubles, samosas) as well as smoothies. Very good food and quite inexpensive.

Hmmn! Not familiar with Gibson's but will definitely give it a try when we're there in two weeks.

Sandra - It's new-ish...opened a couple of months ago. Right across from the Digicel store. Tuesday is curry Tuesdays. Serves all day breakfast too.

Gibson's came out with a new menu. Here it is:

I asked if they'll still have their daily specials. Will post when I hear back.
