Couples Negril trip 11/28-12/4

Flight to MBJ arrived 15 minutes early and it took only 5 minutes to get through immigration. Baggage was another story. The belt broke just as the bags started coming out and it took almost an hour before it was fixed. Ride to resort was fine and we were greeted with cold towels and champagne. We booked a garden suite and received the room we requested, 8307.

We were very happy with our accommodations. Room was clean (yes, there were a few minor things that could have used improvement), the bed very comfortable and the bathroom huge! The weather, food, drink and activities were great and we met many wonderful people from around the world. The staff was very friendly and always inquired as to whether we were having a good time. We did not do any off-site excursions this trip; just relaxed and enjoyed.

Trip home was uneventful and we got in early. No complaints about US Air.

All in all it was a wonderful trip and it restored our faith in the Couples resorts. (Last year we were not as happy at Swept Away).

If anyone has any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

Travelpatty:

In your opinion, what was lacking at CSA last year?

We felt the service and the smiles that we enjoyed so much at Sans Souci were definitely not there. But it was other disappointments that really bothered us. We had booked 4 rooms nine months in advance; three Atriums and one Beachfront Suite (old side). It was our 40th Anniversary and we were bringing our three children and their spouses with us. We wanted our rooms to be close together. Upon check-in we were given one Atrium, a Beachfront Suite and two Garden Veranda suites on the opposite end of the resort. They couldn't have been further away. No explanation was given other than they overbooked and no compensation offered. It was always my understanding that you were not guaranteed a particular room number but that you always received the "category" you booked. This was definitely not the case.

We also had a theft issue. There were a few other problems as well but I won't go in to them here.

I realize that Swept Away is a favorite for many but it just was not the right resort for us.
