Changing Reservation

Hi All. If I am already booked through the Sandals website, is there any way to change booking to now use a travel agent, without losing the travel insurance money?

It would depend on the type of insurance that you have, I suggest that you give all of your travel informaiton to your travel agent and have them take a look at it.

Thanks Blondie. I bought the insurance through the Sandals website when I booked the trip. I don't have a travel agent yet. After reading through previous posts, I think it's best to have a certified Sandals agent that's why I'm asking.

Your reservation can be transferred as long as it is not paid in full, no penalty. An email address will be provided to you to give permission to transfer your reservation as well as the Certified Sandals Specialist name, etc. If your reservation is paid in full it cannot be transferred.

I always recommend to find someone in your own community, a storefront location where you can build a relationship in person. Go to the Sandals website there is a place <find a travel agent> put in your zip code and agencies pop up. Meet with a couple Specialists to find one you are comfortable with. You can also ask friends, co workers, etc. for recommendations in your area.

Also, ask questions to make sure it is an established agency and that the Specialist has years of experience booking and visiting Sandals properties and that he/she has developed relationships with key personnel at all Sandals properties. Do not book with a new agent.

Will do. Thanks again! It will be my 2nd time to Sandals and 3rd time to Jamaica this year. I have always booked my own travel but after reading through some posts, I got nervous.

A good Certified Sandals Specialist will have current first hand knowledge of all Sandals properties, not charge an agency fee, keep track of your SSG points, alert you of triple point promotions or any other deals, watch for price reductions or a higher room category that may come along for about the same price, contact you and change your reservation to upgrade or get the lower price. Also, upgrades (based upon availability) upon arrival are a possibility due to the Specialists relationship with key personnel on site as well as many other perks. Finally, if something goes terribly wrong before or while traveling you have someone local and in your corner.
