Traveling with young adult children

We are planning on a trip to Jamaica the end of Feb. with our 19 year old daughter and 21 year old son. Have looked at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites and Jewel Runaway Bay resorts. Any suggestions? We like activities, nice beach, swim up bar. Also planning on some excursions, any suggestions for these? Is it safe to go into the towns? Also, would one room work for our situation or would it be to tight?

The two resorts you mentioned are all inclusives, so is that part of your criteria for a resort? Also, they are family resorts and the age of you children are, in Jamaica, adults (drinking age is 18).

The best beaches in Jamaica are in Negril rather than the North Coast; having said that, Jewel Runaway Bay does have a nice beach (still, Negril wins on that point). To add more, Negril resorts are not isolated but are part of an eclectic village of Negril (pubs, eateries (some outstanding), craft markets, bars, nightclubs).

Thinking about resorts, I would think that two rooms or a room with two bedrooms would be indicated. For Negril, two rooms at Grand Lido Negril (an AI), and Riu Palace Tropical Bay (get adjoining rooms)(has a swim-up bar) (is a family resort with few kids).

If you stay in Negril a few excursions you all will enjoy are-YS Falls; the Blue Hole in Brighton and Pelican Bar.

PEACE!
