ys falls from mobay. taxi or tour? whats better deal?

Leaving in less than to weeks for iberostar rose hall beaches. want to go on day trip to ys falls and maybe black river. dont want to be in a large group but would deal with it if the price is better. So, tour package or just talk to a cabbie? Also- is bob marley/ nine mile worth it? Any other suggestions for excursions? only staying 4 nights and five days and only want one full day for excursions and maybe ahalf day too. the rest of the time we just want to sit on the beach, drink red stripe and blender drinks and relax. traveling on a budget. any suggestions welcome. would rather do relaxing/ romantic stuff than adventurous stuff allthough we would zip line.

Hello,

This is a long trip, 2+ hours! The YS falls are great, totally different then Dunn's Rivers Falls. You are on a fixed schedule when you do a tour bus excursion, noses have to be counted, etc., when you hire your own driver, you stop and go as you please. Price wise, they can be pretty close. It would be hard to combine another excursion due to the fact that you are staying on the north coast and the YS Falls are on the south coast!

Check out the zip line and river rafting on the great river (mountain Valley) combo! This package is offered by Adventure tours, about 45 minutes just outside of Mobay.

Decisions, decisions what to do. When you get to your resort and do all the check in stuff, check out the tour desk and then talk to a "JUTA" taxi for some fact finding. Then get your hands on a cold Red Stripe .................aah

Take it nice and easy,

Gil

Thanks for the advice. What about mayfield falls? is that better than ys? for our second excursion we just want to go close to mo bay. Heard about luminecent lagoon. Is that any good? and what prices should we expect to pay to get to ys falls or mayfield falls?

I would contact Gregg with Reggae-tours and take a private tour. Along with YS Falls I would go to Floyd's Pelican bar at the same time. Gregg and his company are highly recommended. Check out his sight and reviews.

I am also leaving in less than 2 weeks to MoBay and planning on visiting YS Falls and the Pelican Bar (and maybe Black River or Appleton if there's time/energy). I actually found Clive's transportation to be slightly cheaper than Reggae Tours (both are about the same price as going with a large tour group). Clive's is also a private tour, and, they also seem to be flexible to adjust the trip to your needs/desires. I can't compare the two companies other than price, maybe someone else who's used them before can elaborate on the reliability of the 2 companies...

Oh, YS Falls also has a mini zip line and tubing for extra cost if you're interested.
