My husband wore nice looking white sneakers (with khakis) when going to the a la cartes at Grand Palladium last May. Never a problem.

I wore sneakers to the ala cartes as well no issues. I only take sneakers and flip flips.

NO! That is not the closed type shoe they expect. They are trying to establish some type of decent dress code. Don't you people get it?

Find yourself a comfortable casual leather shoe and don't embarass yourself with a stupid tennis shoe regardless of how others WANT to interpretate this......Somebody had to say it.

If you are on a Princess or Celebrity cruise on formal night, then No. A nice pair of Vans sneakers with black soles works fine. Don't worry, your behavior and unkind words will be more of an embarrassment that your shoes tucked under the table. In the mean time, Hail to Bobs

I've seen resort restaurants turn down men for not wearing collered shirts or for wearing shorts where long pants are required, they should do the same for those wearing sneakers.......to each his own , but wearing sneakers is just showing your ignorance. Hey, while your at it why not wear your baseball cap to dinner?

Excerpt from Email:

So are “Good” sneakers ok or do I need to bring my dress shoes?

Buddy

Yep, good sneakers are ok.

First of all the reason the original poster was asking, is that someone in group forgot to pack dress shoes. I am assuming they were already on way and was trying to put someone at ease. There was another post with no responses to this question from same poster. So it was not an intentional thing here.

Wearing a baseball cap would just be wrong. Jamaicans play cricket, so be respectful of the culture and find a cricket cap....lol!
