out grown clothes and trainers

when we visited jamacia in Jan we were asked on occasions by locals that when our holiday was over could they have our beach shoes unfortunatley for them we only took new footwear with us so did not leave it....my question is we have planned a trip in nov we will be staying a iberostar rose beach ...would it be a good idea to pack our sons out grown summer clothes and his old footwear to pass on whilst there...will there be locals on the beach who will not be offended by the offer or perhaps the ladies from housekeeping at the hotel....i thought it would be nice to pass the items on....but do not want to take the items if they would cause ofence or be unwanted .....

We do this every year. Pile it all on the dining table and invite in the ladies from Housekeeping. It will all disappear in a whirl of patois. It will all be used, it will all be appreciated, no one will be offended, and good on ya.

It's doubtful that there will be locals on the beach where you are staying - However, you could link up with a school or known charitable organization and the items would be much appreciated. If you search this forum there are many suggested groups.
