Shopping Montego Bay?

My husband and I are staying at the Hilton in Montego Bay at the end of April and I was wondering where is the best shopping area. Also does anyone know if the hotel offers free shuttle service for shopping.

I personally haven't seen any "best shopping" in Montego Bay. But the closest place that is quite pleasant and clean to your hotel which includes restaurants, souvenirs, casinos, supermarkets, clothing, jewellry, perfumery, book store, electronics store, pharmacy, etc. is Whitter Village. It's maybe 5 to 10 mins from your hotel.

There is another shopping center called "Fairview" but not much there. Frankly, it's quite boring.

Then there's the various craft markets - one near your hotel but on the opposite side of the street, a large one just outside the hip strip, one in the town near the "Nyam and Jam" restaurant, and a very tiny one inside of the hip strip itself.

There are souvenir stores and some jewellry stores on the hip strip and also in Freeport, but you may find that the "Jamaican" souvenirs are, in fact, Chinese made.

Rose Hall Shoppes are close by as well.

It's certainly not the kind of "shopping" you would find in New York, but that's what exists here.

There are various stores in the town, but they all more or less sell the same items.

Personally, I would stick to purchasing some genuine Jamaican art and some treats. There is Saba Art Gallery near the town. You might check that out. And Don Way on the Hip Strip also offers some genuine art by local artists.

You can find artists on the Hip Strip and in the various craft markets. Just ask.

The only thing at Mega Mart shopping (Catherine Hall) are banks, Island Grill and industrial type places. The shopping past that is Fairview and then Bogue, which is mostly local headquarters for phone stores, fast food restaurants, movie theatre (which is the only one in Montego Bay, I believe), and little specialty shoppes, various other stores and offices. I think that's where you're referring to. There's FedEx in that direction as well and the water sewage plants that some tourist look at in awe and think it's lovely... LOL!.
