Royal Decameron vs Coyaba for 2 nights?

Will have a short 2 night stay in MB and need advice on where to stay. RD which is AI ($139/nt) or Coyaba non-AI ($102/nt)? Not familiar with either so can't decide which is in a better location for restaurants, bars, etc?? Would prefer a non AI but would consider if the price is right. How is the food (quality and price) at both? If we go non-AI at Coyaba, what would be close?

The Royal Decameron is located at the north end of the 'hip strip'. There you an find lots of places to eat and drink. Coyaba Beach Resort is located about 4 1/2 miles east of downtown Montego Bay.

There is a nice golf course across the road, otherwise nothing. Plan to take a taxi to almost anything.

If those are the only two choices for hotels I would go to Coyaba Beach Resort and book it all inclusive. For two days in Montego Bay the thought of going out several times a day to eat is too much work for me and takes too much time out from relaxing on the beach (which is also a bit better at Coyaba).

Just curious where you got that rate for Coyaba and RDMB? Both are well under any prices I've seen for both places.

Have you looked at places like Toby's or the new DonWay?

Coyaba offered the rate as a "Daily Deal" on Hotels.com yesterday and RDMB is still at $139/nt on Expedia. We will be at Sandals Whitehouse for 10 days first and then 2 days in MB before heading home. Coyaba definitely looks like the nicer option but we will probably want to explore MB which is why I was thinking RDMB. If we don't want to leave the resort our food/drink will be paid for but if we decide to try other places we will be within walking distance.

Coyaba is much newer more upscale but is a long ways from restaurants, etc. RD has a much better location for shopping, restaurants, clubs, etc.
