Sandals Whitehouse or Sandals Grande Riviera?

Looking for a week stay in October.

Wants: Lots of restaurant choices.

Snorkeling from shore - doesn't need to be fantastic, but at least interesting.

Don't care about pools, never go in them

Don't need a butler but do want club level

Prices are similar, distance from MoBay airport similar

Which has better snorkeling?

TIA!

I don't know which has "better" snorkeling and that may be subjective to those who have stayed there but I do know SGR has the most dining options with 15 options on resort property.

Club level is offered at both

Been to SWH twice and SGR 6 times. Always travel in October for anniversary. Am an avid snorkeler and scuba diver and prefer SGR's water and underwater life.

Sand fleas and small comb jellies get me at SWH. Lots of turtle grass and long-spined sea urchins (OUCH!) just off shore at SWH, too.

SGR has a lot of dock and pier area where lots of small fish congregate along the pillars. Good snorkeling along the rock wall with the Sandals sign, too.

There are more restaurant options at SGR, and they have great Club Level (Concierge) rooms. Lastly, it is a slightly better and shorter ride to SGR.

Am heading back to SGR (trip #7) this fall, too. :-)

@Dotneko I think you made a great choice! You can see the fish just standing on the pier at SGR, so if you snorkel, I'm sure you'd see more. We are not big snorkelers, but I've seen lots of people do it near the border of the resort by the beach club.

And definitely WAY more options for dining at SGR. You can't eat at all of them in the week, and much better food than Whitehouse IMO.

We're planning on that week as well.......

While they're both beautiful Resorts, I think you made a very good choice.

Dotneko, you're welcome, and you're on for drinks! :-) Count me in.

My hubby and I won't be hard to find. I'm 5'9", and he's 6'5" (bald with a goatee). We're always diving or snorkeling, so he'll be in a long sleeve black rash guard, and I'll be in a black and blue skin. We bring a lot of our own gear (masks, fins, booties, snorkels, etc.) and spend a lot of time in (and near) the ocean.

We're staying in the Riviera building for a week and then a hillside butler villa for a second week, so we'll have plenty of time for drinks, diving, snorkeling, and eating. The are so many great restaurants, but the Reef Terrace is our absolute favorite!
