US dollar still carries alot of weight here. They always seem to prefer US dollars. And has more bargining power at those Local Markets than Jamaican Money.Think last year our dollar was 1 to their 50-60 dollars??

Last time we went (February) I belive 1 American dollar was 87 Jamaican. Of course the dollar has dropped a bit since then. I believe the conversion rate is now about 72 to 1.

American dollars always worked for us too but remember you need to take alot of small bills because some places will give change in Ja. money which you can still get rid of during your stay but a day before you leave try using those small bills but yes they do love american dollars.
