We stayed at the riu club and i beleave one of the biggest differences is that staying at the tropical yuo can use both resorts but staying at thre club you can't. We stayed at the club when the other was shut down for the remodle and spent are days on there beach - nicer than in front of the club. HTH Jane

The RIU Place Tropical Bay is a bit more up scale overall of the two properties. It is a bit smaller, has been recently remodeled, and has a slightly nicer beach.

There is one VERY big difference that has not been mentioned. The Tropical Palace is a much quieter environment with no night life options. RIU Club has a dance club onsite ( not spectacular but u been drinking all day anyway) and is usually a younger crowd and a couple families. The entertainment team is much more present at this resort then at Palace as well. They are two way different environments having stayed at both. If you want fun then go with Club if you want quiet , peace and tranquility go with Tropical.

Another benefit of the RIU Club is it's on the furthest point of the beach, so VERY few beach vendors -- that can prove a lot more relaxing instead of being approached every five minutes. RIU Tropical Bay does not have as many vendors as seven-mile beach, but still a few more than RIU Club ... I've stayed at both, and I like RIU Club more, but they're both great.

So if you happen to stay at the palace and you can venture on over to the club? Sounds like you get 2 for 1, how far is the distance between the 2 hotels?

Thanks everyone for their input
