Everything booked few quistions

We are booked for 14 nights arriving on the 18th of April staying 4 nights on the cliffs staying at seastar and 10 nights on the beach staying at Coco La Palm. I have a few qustions for you.

We are planing on doing a few day trips thinking of doing these with Rocky.Going to do the seastar show on the sat night,we are going to do the love bus tour as well.

We are thinking of doing Dunns river and bob marley tours one day and pelican bar and black river another day.My husband is intrested in seeing Kingston is it worth doing a tour there?

For a special meal where would you go it is our wedding anniversery on the 20th while we are there and we would like to do something we are thinking Ivan's for sunset and maybe a few drinks someplace then as it is a sunday night and we are on the cliffs is there anything you would recommend.

Also for spending money is 150$-200$ enought for eathing out and our drinks our trips will be a sperate buget we like to go out everynight when we are away.Is negril around the same price as playa del carmen or is it more on to st Lucia Barbados.

Where is a nice bar on the beach and the cliffs for a few drinks that is why we are thinking that the love bus tour might be good to do so we would know the area.

I will be back with a lot of quistions in the next few months

"We are thinking of doing Dunns river and bob marley tours one day"

Dunn's River Falls is located just west Ocho Rios. The bus ride from Negril takes about 3 1/2 hours one way if you do not stop on the way. The Bob Marley home is located up in the hills of central Jamaica. It is about a 45 min. drive, one way, from the main road to the home (in addition to the travel time to Ocho Rios). Plan on this total tour taking 12 hr. or more.

From Negril, a trip to Kingston will take about 5 hr. one way depending on road conditions and assuming no stops on the way. If you are staying for 14 days in Jamaica and if you want to do these tours, consider staying a few less days in Negril and stay a few days in Ocho Rios in its place. Ocho Rios is a much more central place from which to tour the places you list.

"Also for spending money is 150$-200$ enought for eathing out and our drinks"

Probably not. Everyone eats and drinks differently but $US1000 is probably a better estimate (think Barbados).

This is probably too much for food and drink but it is better to take too much than too little. You can always take the excess Euros home with you.

I really disagree with the cost of meals and drinks being comparable to Barbados. Doesn't Seastar include breakfast? Coco includes a continental if booked through Negrilonestop. You can stop at a store on the way and get beer & rum or most kinds of alcohol for your room fridge...and take to the beach at Coco. This supplements your drink budget very well. There are also tons of good happy hours. Search my thread Negril happy hours and entertainment. Unless you eat top of the line at Ivan's, Rockhouse etc., ordering bottles of wine and cocktails every night, you can easily stay within your budget. You can find many good dinners for $10-$25. If you have a couple of higher end dinners, and mix in the <$25 you can easily stay within budget. Seastar has good food, reasonably priced.

LTU is a nice spot for drinks and meals, sunset watching in the cliffs and quite close to Seastar, walking distance - walk to the end of the road turn left and just a few properties down. Would say it is our favourite all round spot in Negril and couples we have travelled with say the same. Go down there for breakfast one day or stop in for an afternoon drink and choose a nice table to reserve for dinner. We usually spend $40-$80 for two for dinner at LTU.

Seastar includes continental breakfast - so toast, muffins etc. If you want a nice inexpensive spot for breakfast (lunch or dinner) hop a route taxi down to Hylton and try Just Natural - seafood and vegetarian only but it is seriously delicious and VERY inexpensive.

Aubee's is close by too and his burgers are amazing.

Shark's is close by to Seastar and good too and reasonable.

You have many options while at Coco, Wild Parrot for drinks and good lunch, Coco for breakfast, Chill Awile next door has a excellent restaurant and drinks, you have many food vendors that will come by while on the beach at Coco, Coco has happy hr every day and Managers Party on Mondays, you are on a great beach, walk in either direction for good food and drinks, Seastar has a great show and buffet on Saturday nights, they also serve excellent food for breakfast or dinner, you will love Negril, may see you at Coco next April??

That great to know that it is not as expenisve as Barbados we would not be eating at high end all the times do plan on having dinner at ivans while we are there.we would be bear drinkers and tend to go out early and be home around 12.30 or 1.I dont think seastar included brekafast in the package that our travel agent booked for us but might emil them about it.We like to try a diffent place for lunch and dinner everynight while we are there and go back to our faviort on our last day

I second the suggestion of LTU on the cliffs for drinks and sunset dinner. Nice vibe. We also highly recommend Ivan's. We love to go there on our anniversary.. Awesome Screaming Bananas at Ivan's!
