Hello lovers of Jamaica.
So I have been to JA several times - have never been to Port Antonio. The reasons I love Jamiaca are the reasons why Port Antonio would be great - Love the culture, the people, the history, the mountains, the music. I don't love tourist craziness.
I am planning another trip and, admittedly, was going to go back to Negril (I like to stay at Catch a Falling Star) because its easy, comfortable and I know the folks. Since we live in Charlotte, NC its super easy to get a direct flight to MoBay and cruise on over to Negril.
I don't mind driving, I just don't want to spend hours and hours in the car getting to Port Antonio. I have heard so many different things about how long it takes to get to Port Antonio - 3 hours - 7 hours seems to be the range.
Can anyone help with a realistic drive time from Mo Bay airport to Port Antonio?
And if flying to Kingston makes a huge difference could you let me know that, too? If its a huge difference, then its probably easier to just fly to Kingston.
I'd love to go to Port Antonio. What I would like some help with some really cool places to stay. If anyone has some faves that would be great. I have looked at Great Huts. Geejam is sweet, just outta my price range. I have looked at some really small looking places and one place run by the dood named Free I way off the beaten path.
Thanks friends. Peace!!
