Maragaritaville and Ochos Rios

We leave this Saturday for our first trip to Jamaica, staying at the Gran Bahia.

We would like to spend a day in Ochos Rios and maybe an afternoon at Margaritaville. Does anyone have any suggestions on how we should go about doing so ? should we take cabs, hire a driver or is there an excursion ?

Thanks

Some resorts offer shopping trips during the day with a stop at Island Village. That's where you will find M-ville. Only problem with that is you are limited with time. If you want to be on "YOUR" time look into hiring a private driver like Paul Williams. He will take you where your want, stay as long as you want.

Enjoy

In my opinion the best day to go to margaritaville is a ship day. Although it is busy it's on those days that they have the stilt walkers, games, Buffet music and gear themselves to the parrotheads. Any other day, you won't get that.

Scott, you are 100% correct. Any other days it's just any ole restuarant. Some of the non cruise ship days are school days and you won't be able to get near the pool or water slide.

Do anyone know what days the cruises come into port. I think I would like to be there at that time, in Ochos Rios and Margaritaville that is. Do the ships always follow the same schedules, or is there anyway to find out.

Going to Margaritaville at night for their Club "Ville"Parties are sometimes a great time as a good mix of locals and tourists with drink specials to save the pocketbook as well.

Hey Mac7788,

you can ask your concierge at the hotel you are staying to call Ville and they can tell you when a ship is coming in.
