It is different every day, it all depends on where you are on the island and what weather pattern the island is under.
Last week, there was a big weather system coming up from South America. We did get rain, but here in Rio Grande, we had rain at night and some sun-showers during the day. But we could see the rain clouds forming over by SJ.
An umbrella is always a good idea in the tropics and during the start of rainy season. But, the best bet is to just hop in the car and drive- you will eventually find a dry, sunny day somewhere on the island.
I always say, we need the rain to keep us green and tropical.
why dont you make a review of your trip (overall) and post it as ONE topic. you seem to have had a quite a few experiences and are posting them individually, much easier for all of us if you posted it all in one review.
We just got May 1 and we did experience more rain than we did last year at the same time.
But, we made the best of it, beelining for the SW corner Cabo Rojo/Lajas where the rain wasn't quite as heavy and it's typically dryer. And not having a beach day every day, gave us a good reason to head up into the mountains to explore the charming towns, plazas, food and people.
I'll take PR anyday, rain or shine! An enchanting island and people.
Just got *BACK* May 1.....
