I think I've pretty much answered my question, but I'd appreciate your feedback. We are going to El Con at the end of the month and wanted to fly to one of the islands for a day trip and wondered which one?
1. Photographing older houses, buildings, forts, beaches, birds, and maybe other animals.
2. Sightseeing or checking the place out
3. Having a great lunch
4. Maybe snorkling for a short time
I'm not that interested in laying on a beach all day. I can do that at El Con or Luquillo.
From what I've read, Vieques gets the nod and I like the thoughts of visiting and photographing Fortin Conde de Mirasol and a couple of other places.
Where is a good place for a memorable lunch (hopefully outside or on a porch)?
Where is a good place for a 66 year old to snorkel where there are things to see with tranquil water, relatively shallow and not too far out in the water from the beach?
Is there a problem getting to the beaches within Camp Garcia or the Naval Reservation?
Do you know an english-speaking driver/guide with a either a van or a jeep and the rate for 5 or 6 hours?
