Hotel Help

Hello all...

So im very excited about my trip ... 3 girls on our first time to puerto rico... March 7th - 14 .. itenerary is set...rental car booked but we have run ito a huge issue. Our 4th friend who got us a place to stay is no longer going. Now we will have to book a hotel. Not only is it an unexpected expense but i have no idea where to start since our trip is two days away. I was thinking about doing the priceline thing but it would be the fist time and i dont know if i want to risk it. So i figured id come to the experts...What should i do? Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Courtyard by Marriot is about $200 a night for your time frame. It is in Isle Verde on a nice beach and it is a good hotel.

Try Caribe Hilton. Don't know what the rates are right now, but my BFF and I stayed there for my 50th b-day and it was fantastic. Food is expensive, but you can always go somewhere else to eat. Beach was very nice and private. It is in Condado.

I think the first question would be where in Puerto Rico you want to go.

I saw some good deals on the El Conquistador and Rio Mar yesterday on cheapcarribean.com. I have found that if they have deals, usually Expedia and Travelocity have deals on these hotels, too. These hotels are near the El Yunque rain forest.

The Caribe Hilton as mentioned by an earlier poster is very nice. If you go on hotwire and see a good deal on a 4 Star hotel, it may very well be the Caribe. They have one of the nicest beach set-ups I have ever seen. This hotel also is very close to Old San Juan.

Why not try a fun place like the Luquillo Sunrise Beach Inn? That's what I would suggest for my twenty something daughter. tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g635965-d649104…

Both hotels mentioned above are good but one thing to keep in mind is that Isla Verde has the nicest beach in San Juan. Condado (this is where Caribe Hilton is located) has lagoons kind of beaches (man made). Caribe Hilton is a beautiful resort but the beach is a shallow beach/lagoon. This hotel is located in a secluded area of Condado, not on the main street where all the restaurants are. It's walkable distance though.

El Condado Plaza is also in Condado, next to a small beach/lagoon. It is located right on the main street.

The El San Juan Hotel in Isla Verde is also a great choice and it has the best evening entertainment in town. The Intercontinental is right next to it. They are both on the beach, just like the Marriott Courtyard.

The Ritz is also in Isla Verde and on the beach but in a more secluded area away from the action.

If you prefer the historic district, Hotel El Convento is a fantastic choice. The Sheraton is also there, and so is the Howard Johnson - Plaza De Armas. The Old San Juan is not on the beach so you will need a car ride to get to it.

If you prefer to stay away from San Juan, El Conquistador in Fajardo (a 50 minute's drive) is a great choice. So is Horned Dorset in Rincon (3 hour's drive).

I hope that this helps!
