Other suggestions on places to visit?

We will be arriving for our first visit to PR on May 28. We will be staying in a villa in the Rio Mar resort area for 8 days. So far we have planned visits to Old San Juan for sightseeing, El Yunque, Camuy Caves, one of the Bio Bays, and a visit to either Culebra or Vieques (haven't decided which one yet).

I noticed that most of these places are in the eastern part of PR with the exception of Old San Juan. I see that there are many other areas of PR that we do not have plans on visiting and am wondering if there are any must see places in other areas that we should not miss?

We will have a rental car and will be traveling with 2 kids ages 5 and 9. Thanks for any input!

the caves in Camuy are located in the west coast, not on the eastern region.

With the little ones, you don't want to drive too far. PR has lots of neat things all around, but it can take 3+ hours. So I would try to limit your visiting area to a 1 hr radius or so.

I suggest after you go to Camuy, stop at Arecibo Lighthouse park or Fun Valley park. Very kid oriented fun!

Rent bikes and enjoy Pinones boardwalk.

Maybe a snorkel trip...or rent/buy snorkel gear and go to Flamenco beach on Culebra to try it. Get floaties for the kids, just in case.

Moisty's in Caguas might be fun for the kids.
