Bike ride - Marbella to Pinone Boardwalk

Is it safe to ride bikes from Marbella condos to the Boardwalk bike path? As in - good neighborhoods, sidewalks, not having to ride in traffic to get to the boardwalk?

Nope. Heavy traffic, no sidewalks.

How about the journey from Rent the Bicycles to the boardwalk? Traffic? safety? Their address is 205, del muelle corner manuel fernandez avenue old san juan, PR 00901

That is in OSJ, much farther from the boardwalk than Marbella. There are sidewalks up to Condado, then a very unsafe bike path through Condado (it shares space with cars), then you reach Isla Verde (sidewalk). After that there is a narrow road with no sidewalks up until you get to the boardwalk.

Ok, so is it best to rent bikes at the boardwalk? I just read that the bikes were in bad shape around that area vs. Rent The Bicycle place... But yeah, doesn't look like we can ride bikes from the Rent The Bicycle.....

The bike trail already starts at the end of Isla Verde by the Courtyard Marriott. The bikes at rentals in Pinones are really bad. But you can rent from Rent a bike, they'll drop it of and pick it up again I think it's lie $ 20 a day

Adding to Bunny's post... the sidewalk from Marbella towards Playa Dorada (close to El San Juan Hotel) condo is broad, you may use it with caution and then follow the bike / running trail towards Pinones.

There is a bike rental place in front of Marriott in Condado which has some descent bikes to rent from. My BF & I rode our bikes pretty much from the Condado area to Pinones & had a blast!!! It was an easy ride & we had no problems with traffic/cars. We rode along Ashford Ave which turns into McLeary Ave into Puntas Las Marias neighborhood & then onto Isla Verde Ave. Mind you, we were riding on the street the whole entire time until we hit the Marriott Courtyard, which begins the bike/walking trail! Also, we went on a Sunday.

The ride from Isla Verde to Piñones can be a bit harrowing on bikes but it’s not dangerous imo. Once you get to Piñones it’s a blast and you can visit all the food shops there, make sure to have a shrimp empanadilla, they are great and a bacalaito frito.. The bike trail is awesome and you pass by mangroves and swamps, It’s very cool.and you can also pass by the beach Chatarra that has many pools on the shore.
