MIL loves to gamble

My husband and I are considering a 3 night trip to Puerto Rico and taking my mother-in-law. Se loves to gamble so we were looking for a decent hotel, not too pricey on the beach with a decent size casino. I've read some of the other threads and realize the casinos are not like Vegas. What would be your suggestions for a hotel and do these casinos have penny sots?

Hi Nancy, If your MIL is the type that will spend hours in a casino like Twin Rivers or in Conn., you should probably book the room in her name thru a casino in San Juan Casino rates are considerably lower than the lowest published rate. You might want to call Lee Braunstein a stateside rep for several hotels including the Ritz and the El San Juan (800) 634-0727 or you can email the casino director at the El San Juan, Laura Trucco @ laura.trucco@hilton.com.

Thank you so much for all your help! I made a call to Lee but as of yet no call back and just sent an email to Laura. For what we could spend one night at the Hard Rock in Hollywood/Ft. Lauderdale we could spend on three nights in PR with airfare. Thanks again for your suggestions!

We recently stayed at the Embassy Suites. It's not on the beach. It's a 5 min walk, which isn't bad at all, but I don't know how mobile your MIL is. The casino is also very small. I have no clue if they have penny slots. I only played black jack and lost $20. haha.
