Stargazing/Scenic Views

Hi....I am planning a trip to the Caribbean this Summer and I might decide to stay in Puerto Rico. The last time I visited the Caribbean I was mesmerized by the night time view of the stars. I am looking forward to taking in a view like this again, but I would like to do so safely. Also I am worried about light pollution from city lights ruining the experience. The last time I visited the Caribbean I was in St. Thomas and light pollution was not an issue, neither was safety, however that was almost 4 years ago. Thx to whomever replies...good or bad

Most of the south west and south east are pretty good places for stargazing. Vieques is also good but you need to plan exactly where to go because a lot of the dirt roads are in bad shape.

The best place to stargaze is in La Parguera in Lajas on the southwest coast. Take the boat tour out into the water. On a clear night you'll see stars from the ocean's edge clear up to the night sky.
