Only 1 night in San Juan

My girlfriend and I (we are in our 30s) will be traveling to Vieques for a wedding this Saturday night. We will be spending only 1 night in San Juan and would like to make the best of it. What is a good area to stay in terms of nightlife? We'll probably want to go out to dinner somewhere fun and then probably grab some drinks afterwards. We are open to taking a taxi to get places but are looking for an area of town to stay in with just a fun nightlife atmosphere. Is viejo San Juan a good idea? Is the Carolina area better? We'll likely book our hotel tonight.

Thanks!

Either Old San Juan, Condado or Isla Verde will do. Plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from in all 3 areas.

Hi Marianna, If you are headed to Vieques on Saturday, I assume that you are arriving in San Juan on Friday. Where are you stsaying Friday night?
