The first and only visit was in 1965 on our honeymoon. We stayed a the Americana, I think, which was all inclusive. It had a casino and night club. Is there anything comparable Today? We usually go to Key West or Honolulu.

Things have changed dramatically over the years. As noted above there are no AI's here, mostly because of the abundance of off resort attractions and dining options. I asked my 94 year old mother in law who visited often in the mid 60's .... but she doesn't remember.

Hotels in Condado and Isle Verde such as El San Juan, Intercontinental and La Concha, will come closest to that experience. An old picture of the Americana can be found here: cardcow.com/158791/… It looks like it is in Isle Verde.

I'm pretty sure the Americana Hotel is the Intercontinental Hotel today. Very nice beachfront hotel but it is on the American Plan--no all inclusive.
