oneway rental with AVIS

I remember that ppl here once asked about oneway rental.

I called AVIS and they told me that there is no surcharge for oneway car rental from San Juan area to Fajardo. I rented a mid-size for a total of $93.

Hope it helps

I also reserved with Avis but i found it strange that they didnt want any credit card info.. i hope we'll get that car when we're in San Juan (we're also dropping it in Fajardo - it was the only rental i found that lets you) .

Is it normal that they didnt want any money right away (sounds like a fairy-tale renta-a-car ;))?

I was never asked for a credit card making reservation on-line. But make sure to call them and confirm before pick-up.

Btw, besides AVIS, a local rental called L&M also gives you one-way rental option. I heard that they charge you $25 for that service. Someone here also told me that they allow you to return the car to Fajardo, you go to spend a few days in Culebra, when you come back, you retrieve your car in Fajardo and return it to SanJuan. There will be no one-way charge and no charge for those days you are in Culebra. Since I think the AVIS deal is good enough, I did not check L&M out.
