Culebra

HI! Staying at the Marriott Stellaris. We want to go to Culebra for a day trip. Any advice? Ferry or organized trip? It would be great if snorkling was involved. How far is the ferry from the hotel? Can you get around on Culebra without a car? Any website for the tour companies?? Thanks again for any responses.

We took the East Island Excusions power catamaran to Culebra this past June, out of Fajardo.

It's a snorkling 'booze cruise' that stops off-shore of Culebra's Carlos Rosario beach and then heads over for about 2 1/2 hours of free time at Playa Flamenco. Lunch, rum drinks and sodas, and snorkle equipment included.

Here is some info I have on Flamenco beach and the ferry if you want to "do -it-yourself".

www.puertoricodaytrips.com/flamenco-beach/

You can take the ferry:

www.puertoricodaytrips.com/fajardo-ferry/

or fly from Ceiba airport in Fajardo:

www.puertoricodaytrips.com/ceiba-airport/

these are both in Fajardo, so you need a car rental (about 1.25 hrs from SJ).

Or you can fly to Cuelbra from SJ or Isla Verde airports.

You can easily catch a $3 Publico ride to the Flamenco beach from the airport or ferry dock. You would need to rent snorkel equipment from the dive shop at the ferry dock.

Or just take a snorkel boat tour!:
